Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic – On August 31st, a one-of-a-kind iPad app called ‘Kodiak PHP’ became available on the App Store. This app makes real programming and development possible on the iPad as it allows users to write and run PHP code directly on the device. Currently, other products require online compilers that make coding slow and troublesome. Also, this app comes with a great syntax highlighter and a unique keyboard extension to allow fast writing.

The iPad became a useful tool for developers with this app, which brings a full-featured PHP IDE with a file browser, tabbed interface and a lot of examples and demos. Coders don’t have to depend on their desktop computers anymore.

Most websites run on PHP and there are literally millions of developers who know this language. There are lots of things that can be done with a single line of code, as PHP is very powerful and we also included a lot of popular extensions, e.g. SQLite database support. Our app is the first to make real programming in PHP possible on the iPad.

This app brings something that was not possible before – people don’t always have access to their desktop computers, but they usually have their tables at all times.

Top 5 features:
* Offline PHP code execution
* Editor with perfect syntax highlighting
* Multiple open files in tabs
* Navigation key
* Comfortable keyboard with swipe buttons

Device Requirements:
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 13.9 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Kodiak PHP 1.0 is offered at the introductory price of just $4.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Productivity category. From September 2nd, the regular price will be $9.99.

Indie developers Adam Horacek and Kuba Brecka spent the past few month developing this app. With the help of designers Jiri Ibl and Arif Ariman, they finally launched Kodiak PHP on August 31st. In a squat-like office where they don’t have to pay any rent, they are founding a startup called ‘Ragtime’. From a small town in the Czech republic they are trying to prove that you can build a successful product with very limited resources. Copyright (C) 2012 Kodiak. All Rights Reserved.
