Backgrounds are mixed and matched with frame layouts in order to customize the look of the pictures’ borders. Photographs can then retain the structured frame look, be manipulated into a collage layout, or utilize both features on the same canvas.

Arranging photographs is a favorite pastime for people of all ages. Whereas other photography apps on the market restrict the user to creating either a collage or a framed photo arrangement, Collage It! provides the flexibility to do both – even on the same workspace. Users start with a default open canvas and from there, can choose a frame, add photos from numerous sources, lay out and edit their pictures, select a visually complementing background, and then save it to the app’s library. Aviary’s industry standard image editing software is integrated into Collage It!, enabling photo touch-ups, filters, cropping, stickers and more. Sharing functions include posting it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram; sending it as an email or printing a postcard via Sincerely.com, or simply saving it to the user’s Camera Roll for future viewing.
Version 1.1 provides a more stable app, allowing users to change frames mid-project, add text independently of pictures, and includes more free backgrounds. A new marketplace screen allows users to view the in-app purchase packs available for $0.99 each and provides content thumbnails. Now included are plain backgrounds and holiday themes, in addition to the stock patterns.
