Professional Digital Clapperboard was developed by Joe Allen while he was working as part of a television crew, he developed a very basic digital clapperboard for his iPad and began using it while filming.
Joe told us “Professional Digital Clapperboard works great in our television projects, so I hired a designer to come up with a great interface and released it to the AppStore”. Joe also explained how using the app saves thousands of dollars of the production budget “Using Professional Digital Clapperboard instead of a comparable traditional hardware clapperboard saved us over 1000 dollars of our production budget, that’s a huge amount particularly for indie film-makers”.
With multiple slates, custom frames-per-second settings, clock and timer mode, tail slate mode and much more, Professional Digital Clapperboard offers the professional features found in traditional digital clapperboards as well as many great new features that the iPad can offer.
Joe also explained that there’s more features to come “We’ve had great feedback from our users, we’re planning to integrate note-taking features, clap logs and general interface and feature improvements”
